Anderson County Motorcycle Crash Claims Life Days Later

In Anderson County, South Carolina, one man has died following a motorcycle crash involving two passenger vehicles.

According to the Anderson County Coroner’s Office, the collision occurred on Clemson Boulevard shortly after 6 p.m. on Monday, December 22. The crash involved a motorcycle and two cars.

The motorcyclist was identified as 62-year-old Anthony Vickery. He was transported to the hospital with serious injuries and later died on December 25. The coroner ruled the death accidental and confirmed that Vickery was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The incident remains under investigation by the coroner’s office and South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Passenger Falls Asleep on Motorcycle, Dies After Interstate Crash in Florida

In a separate incident in Oak Hill, Florida, a 34-year-old woman died after falling asleep while riding as a passenger on a motorcycle.

According to Florida Highway Patrol reports, the woman was riding on the back of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle on Interstate 95 shortly after 2 p.m. on December 26. Investigators believe she fell asleep, lost balance, and fell from the motorcycle, striking a guardrail.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the motorcycle was not injured.

Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Crash Under Investigation in Jasper County

South Carolina Highway Patrol is also investigating a fatal hit-and-run motorcycle crash in Jasper County.

Troopers say the incident occurred just after noon on U.S. 321 near Pine Loop Road, north of Hardeeville. A Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a Ford F-150 were traveling south when the motorcycle collided with the truck. A vehicle traveling in the opposite direction — later identified as a silver Toyota Highlander — then struck the motorcyclist and fled the scene.

The motorcyclist died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the Ford F-150 was not injured. Authorities continue to search for the Toyota Highlander believed to be involved.

Two Motorcycle Fatalities Reported on Christmas Day in Aiken County

On Christmas Day, two separate motorcycle crashes resulted in fatalities in Aiken County.

One crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Georgia Avenue in North Augusta, where 50-year-old John A. Robins was killed. Earlier that same day, 31-year-old Edgar A. Gonzalez Paz died in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash near the intersection of Augusta Road and Atomic Road in Beech Island.
